Table Mountain
The city's defining landmark, reachable by cable car or a range of hiking trails of varying difficulty. Weather can close the cable car with little notice, so it's worth building a flexible day or two into your schedule rather than a single fixed slot.
The Cape Winelands
Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, both under an hour from the city, offer some of the Southern Hemisphere's best wine estates alongside excellent restaurants and scenic mountain backdrops. A full day trip is standard, with a designated driver or organized tour recommended given the tastings involved.
Cape of Good Hope & Boulders Beach

Combining with a safari: Cape Town pairs naturally with a Kruger safari via a roughly 2-hour domestic flight, most travelers do the safari first and finish in the city, or the reverse, depending on international flight timing.
Best Time to Visit
November through March offers Cape Town's warm, dry summer, ideal for beaches, hiking, and outdoor dining. June through August is colder and wetter, but also quieter and better value, with whale watching season (roughly June-November) as a seasonal highlight along the coast.
